What is property in law? Is property law safe? Property refers to legally protected claims to resources, such as land and personal property, including intellectual property. Property can be exchanged through contract law, and if property is violate one could sue under tort law to protect it. The concept, idea or philosophy of property underlies all property law. It is the sum of rights and duties, privileges and no-rights, powers and liabilities, disabilities and immunities that exist with respect to things. This holds true for both Western and non-Western legal systems. The value of lan as an immovable asset, has always been high throughout history and there will always be a market to buy, lease, sell, or develop it.
